About our Honorable Speakers
Keith Aldis
Keith is the Chief Executive of the IT Service Management Forum Limited (itSMF's UK Chapter) and the Company Secretary of itSMF International.
Prior to joining itSMF UK Keith was the Chief Executive of the British Institute of Cleaning Science based in Northampton, UK, a global professional Institute responsible for an industry with a £12bn turnover in the UK alone, following on from a career in the engineering construction, energy and oil & gas sectors.
His employment, personnel and industrial relationship skills were honed with the Joint Industry Board for the Electrical Contracting Industry as he went on to assist the industry in setting up and running its own non-statutory training organisation.
Keith has been a director of a number of industry based companies and trusts and also runs his own consultancy business. Following an appointment as the Director of Training and Education at the Construction Confederation, covering an industry in the UK employing 1.5m people and responsible for £75bn turnover (1.5% of the UK's GDP), he moved into the public sector as Customer Relationship Director & Deputy Chief Executive for the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board, a Non-Departmental Government body set up under parliament with delegation to raise levy on behalf of employers for training.
Keith is well versed in the UK government's "Skills for Business" agenda and he is a founding Investor in People Ambassador and a regular national judge for the UK's National Business Awards scheme.
Simon Chang
Simon Chang is one of the founding members of itSMF Taiwan and serves as a standing board member for itSMF Taiwan. He introduced many international standards and practices, such as BS7799 (now ISO27001) and ITIL (ISO20000), into the business service unit which he is serving and built reputable service qualities in the local market. Prior to 2000 he was on the faculty of National Taiwan University, and also served in the government research institute as the founding Director for the national high-performance computing facility, as well as Director General of National Science Council in charge of science and technology policy.
Simon received his Ph.D degree from Cornell University, MS degree from Stanford University after his BS degree from National Taiwan University. Simon is a member in many professional societies. He was the President of COSA (Chinese Open System Association), and the founding Chairman of CACAE (Chinese Association for Computer-Aided Engineering). He also led the SIG (Special Interest Group) of Information Technology under the Chinese Society of Civil and Hydraulic Engineers as well as Chinese Society of Engineers.
More recently, he was elected as the President of DCCA, Digital Culture Content Association, of Taiwan. Simon is also keen to promote the best practices of IT operation and is a pioneer in Taiwan to implement ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library). Simon Chang is currently the Vice President of Acer Inc. in Taiwan in charge of infrastructure service business.
徐樹華先生
徐樹華,設備維護與支撐中心主任,從2005年2月至今任河北省網通公司支撐中心信息系統維護部,負責全省集中信息系統維護支撐管理工作。於2004年3月開始組織內部員工自主開發IT 服務管理系統. 結合企業轉型,已經申請把內部ITSM系統升級為公司08年ICT產品之一。
徐氏一直致力提高IT支撐能力,全面梳理、完善IT 管理與控制流程,制定了較為完整的信息化管理辦法體系,先後組織編寫發布了《IT需求管理辦法》、《IT項目管理辦法》、《IT安全管理辦法》、《IT維護管理辦法》等11 項管理制度,內容涵蓋信息化管理、支撐、建設、維護、安全等各個方面。使IT支撐制度化、流程化、規範化。2005年並獲全國通信行業企業管理現代化創新成果審定委員會頒發的"第二屆通信企業管理現代化創新成果三等獎"。不單是IT的官控,他也參與組織創建IT學習型組織,建立IT支撐專業專家隊伍,IT管控體系編寫工作等。
徐氏於甘肅工業大學機電系學習並獲碩士學位。
Stewart Wan
Stewart Wan currently works for the Projects and Facilities Division of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. He looks after the IT and building projects for the Hong Kong Science Park development and is in charge of the Hong Kong Science Park's IT unit. He has over 15 years experience in electronic and IT infrastructure design and management. Before joining the Corporation, he worked for an international consultant firm, playing key roles in several international and local large-scale electronic and IT systems infrastructure projects.
The Hong Kong Science Park started its operation in 2002. Given the mega project scale and the service-oriented business nature of Science Park, Stewart considers that more emphasis should be put in managing IT services rather than traditional device-oriented IT system or network management. For the past few years, he has driven progressively the adoption of structured ITSM processes in the Science Park's IT operations. Based on the performance data, the ITSM has created value to the operation thereby increasing the efficiency of processes and workflows. This marks as one of the major milestones in IT operations roadmap. To achieve a more effective management of service event, Stewart is developing a new approach, which is at the customization stage and it is believed that with this new approach the ITSM of Science Park can be entering into a new era.
Stewart is active in the research community and his research interests include service management and service performance improvement in building and IT operations. He has published several research papers in various international journals and conference in ITSM. He is a Chartered Engineer. He holds memberships in various international and local professional institutions, such as IET, CIBSE, IEEE and HKIE.
In this conference, Stewart will highlight the value of effective IT service management, placing particular emphasis on service outsourcing consideration and the new approach in service-event correlation.
Tam Yin Ling
Yin is a seasoned veteran in various IT services delivery and support roles for major regional and international corporations. For the last six years, Yin is in the role of the IT Change Manager for the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK). During this time she led the review of system changes, as well as, the evolution of the system change management process.
Before joining AAHK, Yin was Technical Services Manager at the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) leading a technical services and support team to deploy the core Information Management System (IMS) to support the business launch of the MPF scheme in 2000. Other Hong Kong endeavors include Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) phone banking technical deployment and Y2K Global Consumer Bank - Citibank Hong Kong reporting to corporate.
Before relocating back to Hong Kong, Yin had been an Information Systems Analyst / Technical Engineer for the largest North American Utility (Ontario Hydro), a software quality assurance specialist for Software Kinetics and a product manager for Imapro Corp.
Peter Miao
Peter is the Head of IT of Hong Kong Housing Society and has been working in this role for 16 years. As the key executive to spearhead the IT direction of Housing Society, Peter revamped its computer systems from proprietary mainframe systems to the "OPEN" platform, strived to enhance the business efficiency and agility through the use of new technologies such as Workflow Engine (or Business Process Management BPM tools) and Rule Engine (or Business Rule Management BRM tools) for streamlining HS' business processes, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for system developments, Identity and Access Management (IAM) for user account maintenance, and IP Telephony for cost reduction and flexibility on voice communication.
On the IT management aspects, Peter also introduced IT best practices into Housing Society such as adopting Capability Maturity Model (CMM) for system development, Project Management Office (PMO) for IT project monitoring and ISO20000 for IT service management (ITSM).
Prior to joining Housing Society, Peter was working in various IT positions for 10 years. Peter obtained his joint honor degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at University of Kent (UK) and Diploma in Management Studies at HKMA. He is also a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) and a qualified ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Manager.
