Three new council members elected
The Hong Kong Chapter held the 2011 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, 24th May 2011.
The meeting started with Chairman's report. Report highlights are as follows:
- The appointment of four sub-committees, namely, Professional Development and New Programs, Sponsor and Annual Conference, Membership and Communications, International Affair strengthened the council's capability of mobilization as well as coordination;
- The 2011 annual conference completed with a great success. The increase in number of sponsors indicated IT Service Management attracted greater support by the IT industry of Hong Kong.
- A decrease in membership was recorded. The Chapter will have to make efforts in raising the number of members.
Eric also revealed the 2011/12 work plan that comprises the following key areas:
- Annual Conference 2012
- Focus group events
- Events for university students
- Strengthening the relationship with sponsors
- Professional Recognition for IT Service Management (priSM).
Following the presentation on the 2010/2011 Financial Report by the honorary treasurer, Mr. Sherwin Wong, the meeting proceeded to election. Three council members stepped down from the council namely, Mr. H P Suen, Mr. Peter Miao, and Mr. C K Li. Besides, Three retired council members were nominated for re-election namely Mr. Y K Chau, Ms. Yantl Sze, and Mr. William Lam. Besides, Mr. Simon Ko, Mr. Eddie Tsui, Mr. Philip Wong, were also nominated for election. All nominations were elected to the council.
Mr. Eric Lung, chair of itSMF Hong Kong Chapter said after the meeting, "The council will endeavour to do the best in promoting IT Service Management in Hong Kong."
