Mr. Sherwin Wong, Director of Professional Development and Mr. YK Chau, Director of Marketing and Programs attended the "IT and Education" roundtable discussion hosted by the Hon. Samson Tam held on 21 April at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

A number of issues were raised by participants concerning the proposed adoption of e-books and other e-resources in schools.
Participants from the education sector expressed concerns on affordability, availability and attractiveness of e-book content as well as resources for on-going technical support.
On the other hand, participants from the book publishers have reservation due to issues related to DRM, readiness of students/parents. They have also expressed concern that the expected cost saving by going digital may be overstated.
Representatives from the ICT sectors support the proposed initiative. In addition, Sherwin had expressed the following in the discussion:-
- Application of IT in education is more than e-version of teaching material, while the e-material shall have online resources to provide better student values and differentiations
- Harness the values of IT on the "Learning" part of education, which shall starts with aligning the learning style and behavior of the youths
- Suggest to leverage the effectiveness of popular social networking and collaboration technologies (msn/facebook/etc) to facilitate "IT & Education", where Gov could provide the underlying platform of collaborations
