1. itSMF International Chair Steps down
itSMF International Chair, Sharon Taylor, has notified the itSMF International Board of her intention to officially step down as its Chairperson. She cited the need to meet growing personal and family commitments. Ms Taylor is prominent in the IT Service Management global community. She has served the itSMF International as Chair for 2 years, and has served on Chapter Boards and International itSMF Committees for 8 years.

2. ITIL® V3 Master Qualification
As IT Service Management grows in maturity, so do the requirements for developing and recognizing capable individuals in the industry. The ITIL Master qualification is launched recently to meet the growing needs by focusing on the experienced levels of the industry, testing the capabilities of senior IT service managers, executives and practitioners.
The ITIL Master qualification is targeted at experienced professional in the industry, typically, senior practitioner, senior consultant, senior manager or executive, with 5 or more years' relevant experience. All candidates must hold the ITIL Expert qualification.
The steps for achieving the qualification are:
- Candidates submit a proposal describing the real life situation they intend to address and the elements of ITIL they will apply to his situation
- Candidates prepare and submit a work package for assessment
- Candidates attend an interview to support the work package assessment.
The ITIL Master qualification is currently in pilot phase. Further information in relation to the qualification and its release date will be available in 2010.

3. Professional Recognition for IT Service Management (prISM)
The itSMF International i(itSMFI) s working with the itSMF-USA to make the prISM into a global initiative.
prISM, professional recognition for IT Service Management (prISM), originated at itSMF USA that is established to professionalize the IT Service Management (ITSM) industry. prISM provides a framework and guidance for continuing professional development while building upon member's existing training, certifications, education and experience. It also provides a structured path for continuing professional growth while maintaining a registry for professionals to track their continued good standing.
It is planning on developing the program into an international initiative and itSMFI is working on that. Further information will be announced in coming months.
4. OGC Study Aid "Passing your ITIL® Foundation Exam - 2nd Edition" released
Office of Government Commerce (OGC) lately released a publication "Passing your ITIL® Foundation Exam - 2nd Edition". This study aid is suitable for those taking the foundation exams, including ITIL V2 to V3 bridging examination. It has been in line with the new 2009 syllabus. A case study and a mock exam with answer key are featured in the publication.
